Ziteng Fan

Pianist

Chinese-born Finnish pianist Ziteng Fan is a versatile musician who has performed in solo recitals and chamber music concerts across Europe and China. In recent years, Ziteng has established herself as an active collaborative pianist and has appeared at festivals such as the Buxton International Festival, Islington Festival of Music and Art, Musica Nova Helsinki, SibaFest and Romsey Chamber Music Festival. As a concerto soloist, she has appeared with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Camerata and the Helsinki Junior Strings. She is currently an Artist in residence at the Piano Art Development & Promotion Association in Changchun, China.

Ziteng is a prize winner in several piano competitions, including the Helmi Vesa Piano Competition in Helsinki, the Chopin 200th Anniversary Piano Competition in China and Sterndale Bennett Piano Competition at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She is also the recipient of the Royal Academy of Music Else Cross Prize and has received generous support from various organizations such as the Finnish Wihuri and Martin Wegelius Foundations. She was twice selected as “Young Artist of the Year” by Zonta International and Finnish Rotary club respectively.

As a founding member of the Mila Piano Trio, Ziteng regularly gives concerts and workshops across the UK. Their recent performances have included debuts at St. Martin-in-the-Fields and St. John’s Smith Square. They were First Prize winners at VERÃO CLÁSSICO in Portugal and have won prizes in the Isaacs and Pirani Piano Trio Competition and the Historical Women Composers Competition at the Royal Academy of Music.

Ziteng’s musical journey began at the age of four, studying piano with Professor Chaoming Chen from Shenyang Conservatory in China. After moving to Finland at the age of seven, she studied under Hanna Kamensky at the Northwest Helsinki Music Institute before joining the Junior Department of Sibelius Academy. Under the tutorship of Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna and Juhani Lagerspetz, she graduated from Sibelius Academy with Distinction in BMus in 2013 and in MMus in 2018. Between 2015 and 2017, under the tutorship of Professor Hamish Milne, she studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated with Distinction in MA in 2017.
